Is the phone still working at all?
If no then one wire of the pair is disconnected somewhere. Ring your line rental company and just tell them the phone isn't working -
don't mention the broadband.
If yes, if you turn the router off and just use a phone, preferably plugged into the test socket, on the wall at the back in
this pic, is it silent (apart from the messages) when you do the
Quiet line test, which is dial 17070 and take Option 2. A corded phone is best, rather than a cordless one.
