Could someone please tell me,how the connection is made between the fibre cabinet and the existing copper cabinet.I understand that the copper pair to the customers premises s used,but the physical connection of the line from the exchange onward remains a mystery. Thankyou.
The copper pair is split at the PCP ( copper cabinet) and diverted via a tie cable to the fibre cabinet. At the fibre cabinet the VDSL signal is injected via way of filters and the line is returned back via the tie cable and connected to the distribution side to the end user.
there's a fat multicore "tie cable" between the existing cab and the fibre cab. The fibre cab contains the DSLAM and power supplies etc along with the fibre optic terminals that connect back to the exchange.

Hi Ribble.so to clarify.would I be right to say that the existing copper e side carrying the line number,is diverted into the fibre cab, which then returns via another pair,to be connected to the coper pair going to the customers premises.?
