The generic answer, for a random user somewhere in the UK, using mass-market products, is that NO - 50Mbps upload isn't available - 20Mbps is the top for anything commonly available. Availability subject to location, and speed subject to distance from cab.

50Mbps+ is available only from small niche players, in select locations, as you noticed. Or from products that aren't mass-market, and don't have mass-market prices.

The name of a town or city will help people point out what is available or coming soon.

As per other posters the only options likely in the near future are leased lines - almost universally available but expensive.

There are so few market uses for that sort of upload speed that it isn't likely to be a product quickly - if there is a large takeup of FTTPoD and a push from users for higher upload then it may happen - probably at least 5 years though.

Could get a FTTC solution and bond two or more lines to give the required upload speed

Okay virgin can go faster if you go for their business (arm and a leg to buy)

If FTTC available you might double the upstream speed, depending on distance to the cabinet and if you can get FTTC at your home, you can once fully launched order for £700 to £2500 install fee and probably around £70 a month a 330 Mbps down, 30 Mbps up fibre on demand service.

There is little point bonding virgin media cable as the upstream would end up being contended with yourself, but a couple of FTTC lines would give the speeds you want, depends on what budget you have, and the benefits to yourself for being able to upload at 50 Mbps.

Welcome Stormerjack!

Happy for you to PM your postcode/address details and I can let you know if we're in your area....or whether it's on our "to-do" list as part of our expansion plans.

Incidentally, our 100Mbps and 1Gbps speed are symmetrical.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes
Sunita
