I am having some issues with my Sky broadband - my router is connected at ~18 mbps but I am getting download speeds far lower. I have just run the speed test on this site and the graph seems to be jumping all over the place. Could this mean that there are some packet loss issues?
Link
Here are my connection stats:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18999 kbps 1212 kbps
Line Attenuation 22.0 dB 13.4 dB
Noise Margin 3.1 dB 8.9 dB
Thank you in advance for any help.

I wouldn't say packet loss without seeing a TBB BQM graph of your line. It might be CPU load, security software, or something else locally at your end.
Try the BQM tool:
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping
See the 'all connection data' in my sig for a working example. If you have noticeable packet loss, you'll see some red in your graph (as opposed to blue, yellow, green).

Ouch!
Is that wired or wirelessly connected to your router, and is anyone else also connected? Is the wireless access point of your router protected with encrypted WPA2 or higher?

The BQM idea is a possibility, but don't forget the OP will have a dynamic IP address.

It's the same for wireless or wired, no one else is connected and WPA2 is enabled.
I've also tried it with different devices - same results.

What does pingtest.net give you?

Packet loss: 0%
Ping: 29 ms
Jitter: 3 ms

CPU load is unlikely given that it happens on the basic initial test before the 6x. It drops to near zero, so if it it happening then I would expect it to drop to zero on 6x too.

Here is my result from the BQM tool:
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/1c267288392...
Please ignore the 100% packet loss around 8-9pm, I was swapping routers and trying out the test socket, so there wasn't always a connection.

I didn't see the graph before, but I do now (cheers Roberto).
Leaving aside the 8pm-9pm bit, there's a tiny bit of packets loss (the red dots along the top). This is nothing to worry about. The ping looks fine at 30ms or less. As Roberto says, after the router switch, you have far more latency (yellow) on the line, but this might be the line in use?
Best to look at it on its quiet period (usually during the night) to see jitter or spikes, and if possible leave it for an evening to see how an idle line in the busy period is (not easy to not use the broadband, I know ).
I see your downstream SNR is 3.1dB...is this intentional? The standard setting is usually 6dB*. You might be getting a little trouble from that, but you'll need to monitor your linestat errors (especially the ES errors).
* I'm not familiar with Sky's default settings, so it might be spot on. Also not sure about interleave and fastpath on Sky (Google for both terms for an explanation).

May not be just you, but I see it.
As well as the two disconnections of the modem there are some messing about with the router red streaks, with in fact a 1ms increase in base latency and 15ms in typical maximum latency at about 8:16pm, the time of the red streaks. I assume he has landed on a less good gateway.

Hi,Guys
I am using 5MBps internet connection and my Internet Speed is
Download Speed:4.031Mbps(0.25MBps)
Upload Speed :1.854Mbps(0.11MBps)
I got these results from this Internet speed test site *deleted*.
Have just tried that tester ...
10.05 / 1.068 Mbps - a really great result for an 80/20 line that normally runs at 60/18

24 down and 38 up... I don't think I'll be bookmarking it.
