Is there any reason as to why ADSL should be incompatible with NTTP termination type?
|
|
|
Very unusual for a PSTN line to be terminated on an NTTP. Is this a line connected to a switchboard?

something like http://www.telephonesuk.co.uk/images/large/box_con_3... ?
not really, it's just a connector block.

Can we then say there is no reason as to why Broadband should be incompatible with NTTP termination type?

Yes. I can't think of one, it's just a connection method. The wires are the same.

I wonder how the OP knows it is an NTTP though Phil.
If the cover was on in that pic you give, it would look very similar to an ISDN2 box.

Not really Bob as a box con 301 is about 2 times the size of a isdn and the isdn has a green light on it.

But we're only looking at one unscaled picture, and details like the light may have been registered by the OP.
Mine had more than a green light though? I don't remember very clearly, but of course there were two phone sockets around and a few lights.

Yes Phil. Mine was the left-hand of the three in the ISDN section. So I'm almost certainly wrong. (Interesting that it was a business line in an office).

they did Business Highway too. It was ISDN with an inbuilt analogue telephone adapter (or whatever the correct phrase is). Quite neat idea, I had a wireless router that plugged into the ISDN socket and spent £100 per month

I can't remember he detail. I had an ISDN "dialup" broadband line - single channel (64kbps?) - on it, plus I think perhaps an ISDN phone and an analogue one. So I was able to ditch a PSTN line.
Hazy, because I replaced it by 512kbps ADSL 50:1 contention.
