Rural high speed broadband

My tiny village is fed from the exchange at Brandsby MYBBY 1.5 miles away. The Brandsby exchange is fed from Easingwold MYEAO. which is in the process of activating fibre and Bransdby is down for some time next year. The line from Bransdby is underground to a manhole at the top of the village and then overhead following the power lines.

Recently Bt has been working on the underground cabling and I believe pulling through a ducting for the fibre optic cable.

There is probably only myself wanting fibre so what are the chances of Bt eventually putting in the fibre cable?

Believe you are part of the North Yorkshire project, so depends on what they are planning.

Recently agreed to more spending to increase fibre coverage.

they wouldn't pull the ducting through for exercise, so I expect some fibre will be coming through the tube in due course.

Slim unless they're getting some cash from the government and council to do it.

A further question. I have noticed ugly green cabinets have appeared in the local market town. Some are visually quite intrusively positioned. As my village is in an ANOB does the fibre kit have to be in a cabinet or can the existing BT manhole be used?

Do you mean an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) ?

Are there already BT phone cabinets? Fibre cabinets are installed alongside the existing cabinets.

They are installed within a 100 yards, they are not always alongside.
