New Telephone Line for Broadband - No lines from Poles

Hey All,

I have finally taken the plunge and ordered my phone line and infinity 2 package for my new house.

If all goes to plan engineer(s) visits will be 5th Dec.

In the small cul-de-sac we live in, there are no obvious telphone lines running from poles to any of the houses. There is a green cabinet about 100 mtrs away, and a green fibre cabinet next to it.

Although there was a phone line into the house when we bought it, I requested a new line installation when i placed the order.

Question i have is - If i have requested a new line, will they actually put a new line in, or will they use the existing cable? And, if there are no lines from poles to the house, can i assume that the line will get to the house via some sort of ducting?

They will use existing cables where available. If the premises is not serviced by an overhead feed ( from a pole) then there is likely to be an underground cable that will likely appear on or near the outside wall , with another section entering the property.
