BDUK Rollout

There is very little information on the BDUK Rollout. There is almost no proper rollout programme published and no proper progress to date so no one really know how this publicly funded programme is progressing

Yes it is annoying, if I knew BDUK was not going to help where I live I would start investigating what options there are for getting people in the community to start creating our own solution. Until then, nobody is interested in making plans which will be scuppered by BTO.

While you cannot be certain, and particularly as the 2015 goal has a higher 2017 and higher 2018 target now, given the postcode and a map its pretty easy to take an educated guess.

Or put cruder - if you are the only property for a mile in any road direction, then unlikely to see anything from the superfast side of things.

If its a cluster of 10-20 properties then if target by the county is in the 95% or above then a 50/50 chance.
If its a cluster of 100 properties and target is 90% then probably 50/50.

All depends on the ambition and drive of the council, the BT element is relatively consistent and can be partially predicted.

Andrew, Yes I see how that thinking could give a good indicator of what may happen.

But there is no proper rollout schedule which shows progress against schedule and budget

Talk to the local council - they are in control of those announcements

And with everything subject to survey and the "commercial in confidence" clauses in most contracts then the likelihood is they won't be saying much... At least not for a while.

The general way it is working is once roll-out is close they talk about the area more.

A lot of them though are a way off starting delivery (and my own local area hasn't started the physical surveys yet) so not expecting anything until at least spring and then only for the first areas to benefit.
