This has happened several times over the past month. When I try to logon to the Lottery (which has worked for me for years) it says I'mOutside the UK. Why?
I'm with TTalk (was Tiscali) my IP when blocked starts 88, then next day is 78 = OK. "Whatsmyip" says I'm in the UK - Lincolnshire!! SO why does the Lottery NOT?
Is it TTalk or Lottery having the Problem.
Will TT pay me my millions If I would have won the Jackpot.
Thanks TTalk for saving my £2!

Probably just national lottery that has not updated its database.
The joys of trying to restrict material via GEO ip systems

Maybe not. Years ago when I used to play Quake2 on line (with Easynet adsl), I sometimes ended up with a ping of 300 rather than the usual 50/60 ish.
Doing a traceroute when this happened saw my connection went from me to London->Germany->London->quake2 server.

Routing via Germany should not affect a system detecting you as a UK IP address.

Thanks - still not in UK today. IP same, Have written to lottery for their version. Will rebooting router help?

It should do, and include a whois of your IP address, as this will show it is a GB registered IP block

When ADSL24 left Entanet and started supplying their own IP address, there were lots of issues with sites not recognizing a UK IP. I emailed Sky and gave them proof i was in the UK and they added the IP range to their list
