Our BB in Broxburn West Lothian has been slow and down all together for the last 36 hrs. for the last 24 hrs BT have said it is a major fault and will be 2 hrs. to fix.
Any one else affected? Anyone know what the big fault is.
No I cannot see any reference to our fault on there. BT keep saying it is a "Major fault and it will be fixed in 2 hours". They have been saying that for 2 days.
BBis working most of the time at about 8Mbs instead of 40.

Planned BT Network Maintenance - Week commencing 31st March 2014
2014-03-31 13:13:06
When's this work happening?
Early hours of most days this week.
What does it affect?
Broadband connectivity.
How long will it take?
Up to six hours each time.
What does the work involve?
We've received notifications from our suppliers about maintenance work that is scheduled to take place in the following areas this week. This work typically takes place between Midnight and 6am.
1st April
Dalton-in-Furness and Nottingham
2nd April
Liverpool, Stoke, London Stepney Green and Preston
3rd April
Alnwick, Glasgow, Bristol and Coalville
4th April
Alnwick, Falkirk and London Colindale
7th April
Glasgow
Although these are the areas we have been notified of, due to the nature of the broadband network these outages may affect customers nationwide. There are also a number of smaller exchange works most nights of the week that may cause smaller outages at individual exchanges.
Am I likely to notice the work?
Yes, there's a chance that you may be disconnected from the internet for a period of time during the maintenance window.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Any customers having problems connecting once the maintenance is complete are advised to log into their router interface and click connect.
Well it could be but I don't think so. This has been going on day and night for 3 days with BB dropping out completely and varying between about 4 and 12 Mbs down and 0 to 0.2 upload. Also keep losing email.
It's the bit about "will be complete in 2 hours" that is annoying when it's been going on for 3 days.
Finally got it fixed today on the 5th. day. My fault was nothing to do with the "Major fault" but was due to a faulty wire interfering with another subscriber's line.
The "Major Fault" was a red herring and had been fixed on the first day.
We got an excellent technician who went thro' all the connections in several boxes and down holes in the road to sort us out. It is great once you deal with a real human being face to face.
