Sky wi-fi router (D-Link) with any other network

Hi
I was using the Sky BB before but now where I have moved the property does not have BT line and the owner of flat is providing a wired BB through a private company, although it is through a phone line. I have this Sky wi-fi router (D-Link) with me, is it possible anyways to connect this router to this phone line (which is not a BT line) and use the wi-fi? I have tried to connect it but does not seem to be working..any ideas?

Without knowing who this company providing the service is then hard to say.

How does the owner of the flat access the broadband?

its a BB service called spark wifi. My flat is a hospital accomodation and this wifi service provide serivices in the hospital and in accomodations.

Is it a phone socket, or an Ethernet socket? Does a phone actually work through it?

I've just had a look at the wifi spark website from that. It looks to me very much as though it will be Ethernet, not a phone socket. We'll have to see what he replies.

A WAP might be the answer, but there's a chance the T & Cs don't allow it because of the associated wifi network.

That' is my thinking, and because an RJ11 will fit the socket poster may believe that ADSL will work.

If an Ethernet socket then a cable router (i.e router with WAN port) is needed to share the connection (if T&C allow)
