I just changed from plusnet and was going over about 300 gig a month, not sure if I went over but may of gone close to 500 once with no usses, got maxed out P2P on everything apart from 1 game on steam that uses P2P for updates but on google it says many people have issues with that one game and theres no real sense to who gets it

Never slowed down once.

Seems to be.

I've been with them since Jan. Typically we use about 400 - 500 GB/Month, I've not noticed any throttling or other restrictions on the service.

Yes indeed.

Been with them since July 2012.

Moved over to the Unlimited Extra product earlier this year.

No slowdowns or issues with how much you download.

My family downloaded just under 300GB in the last monthly period.

PlusNet have not batted an eyelid.

There are no limits and no throttling. There is prioritisation of time-sensitive traffic over non-time-sensitive traffic, that is all.

I would say it's better but I know there are some that are vehemently opposed to it, however sensible it is. If you pay an extra £5 a month you can effectively switch off the prioritisation so that downloads can swamp your gaming and VOIP smile

That's the general idea, although you'd be unlikely to notice much slowdown in the download, especially on fibre, as Skype would only need the bandwidth in short bursts, and not all of it.

There is a FAQ on Plusnets site with a little bit of info on the traffic priorisation.

For my connection I've never seen any evidence that paying £5 (25%more basically) would give me any benefit, since I don't suffer any problems with the services that it supposedly gives extra benefit to.. Maybe with an ADSL or a slower FTTC connection there would be some benefit.

Can't compare to Infinity 2 as I've enver had that service

Plusnet blog about the prioritisation.

"Pro" is a hangover from the days when the top allowance products were traffic managed in the old-fashioned way and gave you a bit of priority over other customers. It isn't normally needed on the current true-unlimited products, and in fact if a family uses the connection heavily Pro would be more likely to degrade VOIP than without Pro, as it ups the priority of other stuff. If your connection is lightly used then the whole question becomes irrelevant smile, as the network capacity is these days added to regularly.

It's still in the price list because plenty of people are still on the older products.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.6/14.1Mbps @ 600m. - BQM
