If you buy them a new adapter eg find out the volts amps etc of the current one i don't see why they wouldn't use it?

I told them how to get a new power supply. I balked at offering to buy them a new one. It sets a precedent. It baffles me.

Remove names & address of your neighbours. That is their personal info that you should not be posting here. It can also be construed that you are libelling them.

Also a campaign on social media might also be construed as harassment.

They're clearly happy with the issue and don't really mind the drop outs so they have little incentive (apart from being nice people which perhaps they aren't) to pay for it. It's affecting you far more than them unfortunately. I would just buy it personally then it's sorted plus you can ensure they don't get some Chinese item from ebay which is just as bad as the purchase is under your control.
