Broadband monitor

Does anyone know of some software wihich can be installed on Windows 7 which will monitor the broadband connection over a period of time (a day perhaps)? Generally my speed and connection is ok but I notice it seems to drop a lot, or lag, and I'd like to have a log before I start phoning Talktalk and have to go through their endless "have you tried this...?" list of questions.

If it is ADSL then get a copy of RouterStatsLite http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm#routerst...

Set it to log speeds and SNR every 30 seconds and leave running for a couple of days.

You could also post a link to images of it and you will get comment s from here before you call TT.

Thanks for that. I tried it, but my router doesn't appear in the list (Huawei HG533) doesn't appear in the list. I tried the Huawei Generic Telnet option but it doesn't seem to have worked. I got an error message, no router found. That option uses telnet instead of http?

If your Internet connection responds to pings then you can use http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping to monitor the latency and up time.

there is a generic http version which has instructions on how to configure it for a non-listed devices.

I used it beforr and after a couple of attempts got it working. It is not difficult.

May be OK for a day, but won't he be on a dynamic IP address?
