Favour Needed - Swindon Area - Telephone Field Engineer

Hi All,

if anyone is in the swindon area and knows a telephone engineer who works on the cabling and would not mind sharing a few crimps with me, it would make my christmas.

The builders working at my home have accidentally cut through the cable that provides my internet. A dozen standard "jelly crimps" would be perfect.

I have come back from holiday and the internet is down. I have twisted the pairs together and it worked overnight, but then failed a few hours later. As it is a 5 pair cable that is also providing power over ethernet, i think i need a crimp to make a good temporary repair.

Sold cheaply on eBay. Probably get them quicker too.

I think you may be right.
I will buy some now, but if anyone else see's this and is local, the offer of help is still open

Cant you buy some crimps from a car parts place ? just to get you up and running.

I will give that a try today.
I've searched in b&q and homebase but have not found any.
I don't think I've ever seen them for sale anywhere ever apart from eBay.

Anyone else have any suggestions of where to by some crimps?

Maplin sell them. They have a branch in Swindon.
