Pay for broadband only

Currently with AOL and have BT for the phone. I started thinking about ISP's when talktalk(Aol) raised their price, but I now notice most main providers want to get your phone service as well.
So Question....Is it possible to get the main providers to only provide you broadband so i can keep BT as my phone

Eg. Would Sky or Virgin or Talk Talk just and only sell me broadband.

Virgin will if it is cable but I think you pay extra for not taking the voice component.

I don't believe Sky or TalkTalk allow it. Next biggest that do is probably PlusNet. Then a lot of the smaller providers will - some will charge a premium and some won't.

Had a quick look at plusnet. They confused me by stating i have to pay line rental to get the broadband only OR another BT based provider. Now I take it that means you don't pay plusnet a line rental then as I already pay BT that ??????

Yes you can go with PlusNet for broadband and pay line rental to BT. There is a supplementary charge of £2.50 per month for this

The other disadvantage is I don't think you get the deals on broadband only - the deals make it much cheaper to get broadband and line combined.

Why, particularly, do you want to continue to pay your line rental to BT?
