Hey,
Just wondering if anyone knows how much OR typically charges to get the physical phone line replaced from the pole into the house with new cable inside the house to the master socket?
My phone/fttc provider is Sky.

Why?
If it is faulty then, with proof, it will be replaced free. If it is not faulty, why does it need replacing?
Unless you want it to be repositioned - when there are, normally, fixed costs.

Hi,
Yes, looking to get it repositioned, right now it has to go right through the house to get to the master socket through some pretty old wiring. So i guess this would fall under master socket and line repositioning?

http://www.bt.co.uk/pricing/notifs/02-06-2009/Exch_L... gives the charges - although te ex- and inc VAT amounts do not correspond!
That one is dated 2009! There could be an update somewhere.
The latest ... http://www.bt.com/pricing/current/Exch_Lines_boo/129... Base price from BT is the same, the VAT element has increased.

I could get damaged then it would be free !

the NTE is openreach property so needs to be done by openreach

I asked Sky how much it would be to move my NTE from the loft into the living room below. They told me they can't organise this, and suggested I find a local ex-BT engineer to do it instead...

Sky can arrange this as its an item on the Openreach price list, just the Sky choose not to, the CS rep did not know it was an option in their system.
Plenty of people will move an NTE for you, but they are not supposed to.

plusnet charged me £160 to move the master socket from the back to the front of the house although on the OR price list it seems to be £130. So plusnet made a quick £30 out of me

VAT?
No because OR price of £130 includes VAT (£108.33 excl), unless plusnet then add VAT on top of that which I don't think they can do as it would be £156.
Anyway to original OP it should be £130 via OR but that is a shift and won't include cable replacement unless it is damaged.
The Kelly engineer joined a new piece of cable to mine just after it connects to the house. Wasn't happy as I specifically said I didn't want a join but it doesn't appear to have affected to the speed of the line etc.

No because OR price of £130 includes VAT (£108.33 excl) I don't think you will see any Vat inclusive prices quoted by Openreach.
In any case, I don't see that figure anywhere. I see £115 @ 31/03/2013; £120 @ 01/04/2013; £105.20 @ 01/07/2014; and coming up £105.40 @ 01/04/2015. All ex vat.
Openreach will only deal with the CP. Vat is not relevant until the CP charges the end user. Yes, it will appear on Openreach invoices to CPs, but the CPs claim it back from HMRC. It's completely hypothetical at that point so far as we are concerned.
The CP is perfectly entitled to add a margin above cost to anything they sell. If they couldn't, then retailers would cease to exist.
