Well we own a dedicated rack server located in Germany in some data centre and yep it also seems we use -all as well for all the mail domains as well as the mail server (had to double checkAlso SPF is much more easier to setup than DKIM
Yep, I use SPF too, on the "strongest" fail flag, -all. It works well for one or a few users on the domain who are clued up.
But of course problems ensue if there are multiple users, and one or some of them choose to set up SMTP via a third party server, for whatever reason, because their email will then almost certainly be treated as spam by the receiving server. In that instance, ~all is a safer option.
But yeah, when I took over running this online game etc and moved it over to our server, where everything was run from our server, emails, games, domains the lot, it only took a few months for us to get blacklisted due to sending loads of emails to our users etc and not setting up SPF at that time, but like I said once we setup the records and they went live mail servers started to accept our emails.
But by not setting up SPF at the start of the hand over of the game stuff we lost about 80% of our user base, granted some are coming back, but not as high as it was.
So you could say we learnt the hard way.
