I am six months into a one year contract with Plusnet for phone and broadband. I'm trying to transfer my Plusnet phone and broadband package to a new address with no success. I move in a week's time.
I rang them last night and was told if I want to relocate my services they will ask me to agree to a new one year contract. When I joined Plusnet I didn't see anything in writing about this.
They're also telling me they can not port my services without the phone number of the house I'm moving to and preferably a MAC number although I can't see why they want this. I'm unable to get the phone number until I move in which means I'll be without internet for up to two weeks waiting for them to connect it.
Is there any way to find out what my phone number is at an address I'm not yet resident at or is it possible for them to connect services at an address without knowing the number? They told me they could set up a new number for me but they would charge me for this.
Any suggestions about what I should do? Am I obligated to take out a new one year contract?
