A hypothetical question though btbert. What would you do if the user wanted those two externally-run extensions to remain operational? All I can think of would be to add a bit of cable through the wall to connect them to the NTE5A, but would that fall with the job spec?

The user can always "backwire" it i.e the blue pair in the cable feeds the NTE, with the orange pair in the same cable coming out of the extension port, and then can be crimped to the other 2 extensions.

Openreach aren't meant to do this, as it makes things unclear for demarcation purposes, but nothing to stop the user doing this themselves.

All the ENTEs i have worked on have only had one cable on them going into the house and all the exensions run from this point. This point is usually behind the ENTE ( in the house) so easy to wire in.If they are run off the ENTE you "should" run a new cable from the new nte5 back to the ENTE but in the real world !

There are not many ENTEs out there as BT OR stop using them when FTTC come out.
