BTw Performance Test - Diagnostics

[link to this post]

It's been quite a while since getting the full diagnostics from the test, just seem to get the results for:-
1. Best Effort Test

http://s8.postimg.org/469sv4kud/BTw_Test_27_July15_7...

Is there a problem with it?

Yes this happened to me. There was no fix for it that i could find, tried different web browsers. different computers, turned anti virus off, updated flash to no avail. this happened for a couple of weeks but after that it started working again. I just assumed it was a problem at there end

Looks as if it gave up before even doing the upstream test. Or at least it didn't complete it.

That looks like the old version that I use. There is an almost identical one but prettier colours, which may run a slightly different test as well although the same results come out.

BatBoy often links to it, but I don't remember the link.

I wonder if that might get further.

You could try going straight to diagnostics test

http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/PerformanceTest...

It'll probably show the same message but worth a try

I'll give it a try if BatBoy could provide that link to the other tester sometime.

Ah! I didn't notice that my link target page has changed. It is now the one I was referring to that BatBoy has been giving for ages.

In other words mine has been removed, BatBoy's substituted, and his redirected to mine? Got that? tongue tongue

That familiar link which I've just tried doesn't give the full diagnostic results for the tests.

I used this website when i was unable to check my ip profile using the standard checker, don't know if it was accurate as there was no way to compare the results using the standard as it wasn't working correctly but just gave it another try and according to both bts checker and the website i provided below both come back with an ip profile of 5mbps for me. So accurate so far smile

None of your pastes have shown an upstream speed. Is the first test failing to do or complete those?

If so, is your reason for testing in the first place possibly connected with an upstream problem? Even if you aren't aware of upstream perhaps being involved in a downstream one.

First part of test get the usual data:-

http://s23.postimg.org/r8fg703uj/BTw_Test_30_July15_...

After the diagnostic test only get this, no IP profile etc etc:-

http://s17.postimg.org/acyiw115r/BTw_Test_diag_30_Ju...

Use the test to check the BT IP profile occasionally.

I think that is the non-BT line page 2 result. IIRC the first page can be obtained by any phone number including LLU, since the profile stuff and such was moved to a second page. That's why it was put on a second page, as the first doesn't need to know anything about your connection. Just like tbb and speedtest.net.

Sort of. But you are on Plusnet. So it's weird.

Was your phone number originally allocated by an LLU ISP? Has this phone number ever worked for this test since the test was revamped?

The number originated from BT.
No LLU provision here the nearest exchanges with it are over 65 miles away.

Yes the number has worked before OK with the tester:-

Just tried it and got the same again:-

Looks like BT refused to test, possibly because a speed test or BRAS check has been run recently which prevents this tool from working. Try again in a few hours.
Debug: BT no BRAS info

I don't think there is a fix for it, having a quick look through the bt forums before shows that time itself fixes the problem, sometimes it persists for hours and others it persists for months. must be a problem at there end.

The mouselike test just runs the BT Wholesale test in the background, somehow obtaining your credentials to do so. Then feeds you back the IP Profile and IIRC the speed as well.

So if you try that, you are stuck for whatever period it is, to run either! I thought it was three hours these days, but maybe it is longer.
