Hey,
Our Cabinet is expected to receive fibre by next month (september) and yesterday I noticed that ADSL 2+ was now available for my address. I have now got speeds up to 12mb which is great!, but I want to know, do openreach install ADSl 2+ prior to the fibre being installed,
thanks
extra info,
Cab: PCP 2
Exchange: Danehill

, do openreach install ADSl 2+ prior to the fibre being installed It sounds like that's what's happened.

If you get WBC ADSL2+ appearing then usually means your exchange is a fibre head end, and needs the WBC network for BT Wholesale backhaul, getting ADSL2+ as an option is a side effect.
It does not guarantee you will get a fibre based option, that depends on what happens with your specific cabinet.

Sorry, I couldn't understand by what you mean by a fibre head end
My cab has been built and Is expected fibre by September
On Bt wholesale it says WBC Adsl2+ and Adsl2+ annex

Fibre head end is the name for the exchange where the fibre from the cabinet(s) connects to the end of the backhaul network.
ADSL2+ Annex M is the up to 2.5 Mbps upload version of ADSL2+ that is all.
Lots of cabinets on smaller exchanges do not see ADSL2+ appearing as an option, but it does arrive at the larger ones for the reasons outlined above. Also worth noting 95 to 96% of UK premises already have option of ADSL2+ over the TalkTalk LLU network.

Exactly. At my Scottish location (rather than London) it has been ASDL Max for a long time - then Fibre arrived great on paper however a problem for a lot of users - a vast percentage, if not all in the village, were on EO lines so for anyone to benefit two new cabinets had to be installed! So, it is FTTC or stick with ADSLMax.

Possibly ducting to join new fibre cab to old cab so copper lines can be interconnected

Fred I think its a chamber like we had done recently along with possible fibre hardware and 24m of fibre.
The chamber will look something like this.
