I currently have two extra cables from the BT pole to my property and want to work on the soffix.
Is there a form I need to complete to have BT remove the lines or can I just detach them and leave the cables dangling from the pole?

removing and leaving them dangling is a route to get lawyers involved, so don't do it.

You can get OR to remove them - however, you may find it is a chargeable activity. If they are dangerous with loose brackets or missing screws and the potential to fall and cause a hazard - no issues, however if it is purely cosmetic then it may take time too.
Technically, YOU cannot do anything to those wires - they are OR property and on their side of the demarcation point.

Bit of a pain. Leave the soffit and let the wires fall or be charged for something that presumably should have been removed when the lines went out of use?

I see where you are coming from - however there is a cost for all activities and at some point the end user or customer has to pay and that could be up-front at install, through line rental or on termination, all of which would have people asking why. There is also good reason for leaving it in place - what happens if you sell and te new owners want two or three additional lines? New drop wires will be needed - again a cost.

Well the lines aren't useable as the contractors who came to connect me over a year ago ended up installing a new line!
Had I of given it any thought at the time I would have asked them to remove them then, but it is only recently I have examined the wires and found they dont go anywhere.
The local feathered flocks like to sit on the lines and use my cars for target practice, so perhaps OR can bill them? lol
