ADSL bridge with broadcom chipset

Hi, I am looking for a cheapish ADSL 2/2+ bridge modem (no wireless, only needs a single RJ45 port). I believe broadloom is the chipset to go for. Its for a small charity, less than 4 people in office.

An (Openreach) HG612 off eBay.

Yes, it's sold as an FTTC modem, but it's a VDSL/ADSL router in bridge mode. It is also easily unlocked so you can see the line stats and make any adjustments you want.

Thanks for your lightning fast reply. I believe this is a VDSL modem not a ADSL model. Also as I am looking for this for a small charity they would probably prefer something new, however used is not out of the question. The netgear you mentioned has mixed revews,

Once unlocked the hg612 works with both adsl and vdsl depending on how you configure it

Almost. Its two different approaches and as the other way of doing it is not seriousness DSL thought I would ask in the general forum.

The unlocked version is set to ADSL/2/2+/V2, excluding T1.413, and from asbokid's posts (the first person to create an unlocked firmware) that's how the locked version is also configured.

I didn't mention any Netgear. ?? smile

And as I said, it's an ADSLx/VDSL2 router, in bridge mode. Exactly what you asked for.

Many on eBay will be new.

Sorry my mistake.

Thinking it may be a lot easier to just get a DSL/router/VPN.
