BT insists fibre not aviailable... but it is

Title says it all, really. The main trunking terminates, underground, only yards from my house, and many of my neighbours are enjoying 76 Mbps. But BT (chat with a human, of sorts) and other suppliers like PlusNet, insist that fibre is not available.

We are slightly unusual here, in that there is, as far as I know, no 'green cabinet'. This is in Cornwall, and our village was fibred last summer.

Up to 2 Mbps, ADSL only.

That's why the ISPs are saying not available.

I know... but what can I do about it. Dig my own trench?

Does the Where and When site reveal any plans? http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/

For the postcode, it says we are enabled. For the phone number, it says 'We're working with government and industry to explore ways to bring Superfast fibre to as many people as possible but don't have a plan for your area yet. '

They installed it last July.

Maybe they've put a stop on more trenching into Cornish granite. Our topsoil is thin, and the rock is hard.

My next-door neighbour was until recently a senior member of Cisco's staff. He, and *his* next-door neighbour, have 76 Mbps.

What do both those sites say for his address?

What exchange and cabinet does the Wholesale ADSL checker advise you're on?

Can't check short-term, as I don't have the numbers to hand, and one is ex-directory and apparently not on the BT database. It's a good line of attack, though. I will enquire.
