Re: Strange Behavior - Zen Internet

There is nobody stealing my bandwidth!

This issue has been ongoing for over a month now. Its not just started to happen.

During this time I have done several things such as disable wifi, remove servers from the network, and all other devices. But still always got the same data in the graphs.

Its not an internal issue, whatever is causing it is something Zen side, or there is something wrong with the line, which I doubt.

But theres something else.

We have another Zen fibre connection at home on a different exchange, same area, North Devon, but a different exchange.

And I am seeing what looks like a similar pattern, certainly not as bad as the office based Zen circuit that I initially posted about, but it looks like its doing a very similar thing.

See this graph of my home Zen circuit. This circuit is on the Ilfracombe exchange.

Home Zen

Ignore the disconnection at the end, that was me rebooting the modem.

And heres todays graph from the office based Zen circuit I initially posted about. This circuit is on the Woolacombe exchange.

Office Zen

And a speed test result for today on the office Zen circuit.

So there it is, something is wrong and I intend to get to the bottom off it!

In reply to a post by clivers:
We have a Zen ADSL line with congestion problems over the last 24 hours.

Your graph shows the same as my home based Zen circuit. A very noticeable increase at 10am.

I phoned Zen again this morning and told them that my lines are contented, but they claim that its not technically contention and is actually an overloaded VP.

They have decided to monitor both connections over the weekend. I doubt that will bear any fruit.

Looks like I might be moving from Zen, been with them for 8 years and not once had an issue. But what with my current problem continuing for over a month, I dont think its going to get resolved. And now with the other line starting to show problems, well, I am off!

Well the forums are full of the same. Zen is knackered! Months and months this has been going on and the Zen staff on here have gone silent!
The only fix i can see is to leave!
