BT Infinity 2 and only on a 55mb circuit?

Hello, this is my first post on the forum so bear with me.

Moved to a new house in Canterbury, Kent looked around and found that Bt was the fastest in my area, we got the product and it was fine and easy no troubles. Did a speedtest like you do and found out i was only getting 40mb down and 10mb up, because it was a new connection i thought nothing of it and waited a few days for the line to even out and did another test and found the result to be the same, called BT and they sent Openreach out looked at my line and there was nothing wrong with it, whilst having a chat to the engineer he said i was on a 55mb circuit and that i could never actually get 75mb like i was promised when i bought the product.

So i bought BT infinity 2 and i could only really get BT infinity 1 speeds.... What shall i do?

The current Downstream BRAS rate is: 42.53 Mbps
The current Upstream BRAS rate is: 20 Mbps

Can you post theconnection stats from your router?

The fact the upstream profile is 20meg proves you're on the 80/20 service.

My router is currently syncing at a downstream speed of 44.33 mbps and an Upstream sync speed of 11.89Mbps

Something is probably introducing a load of noise into your phone line. Are you plugged into the master socket?

(Edit - I see others have overtaken me).

That upstream BRAS rate (IP Profile) proves you are on the 76/19 BT product. (Openreach 80/20). So your engineer may understand the electronics, he doesn't understand the products.

The downstream 42.53Mbps IP Profile tells us you are connected at around 44Mbps. BatBoy will be better at telling you how to get line stats out of your Home Hub.

What we do know is that there is definitely something not right.

Is the Home Hub connected to the master socket, or at one of the extensions. Are the sockets normal BT type, or fancy nice-looking MK units or similar?

Yes i am plugged in to the master socket and i forgot to say that the Bt engineer put a new Faceplate on my master socket.
