Any info on my cabinet

Hi I'm on cabinet 2 of Whitburn (NEWN) and the where and when checker still says build stage and should be complete within 5 months. I was told by Digital Durham that it would be ready for fibre orders at the end of 2016 but nothing seems to be happening, no sign of a fibre cabinet near the old cab 2. Any ideas?

The only information I can find is from the CodeLook website: "FTTC being Built, live due by November 2016". I'm sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

Yea thats what Digital Durham said, thanks. No idea what the delay is. I have seen on roadworks.org duct clearance between the cabinet and the exchange but apart from that all gone quiet.

It's likely to be a lack of permission from the council to install the cabinet.

I saw on roadworks permission to put the electricity cabling in for it but so far no cabinet unless its no where near the old cabinet.

Fibre cabinets are installed within 200 m of the PCP. So, it's best to just have a good search around just to check.

200m is not the usual limit, or have they changed that too recently?

There is the roadworks set for end of January, so its a case of seeing if this goes ahead if so then they are still progressing.

No sign that the cabinet has been refused permission and especially as a gap funded one if it was refused some questions to be asked as to exactly why.

At a guess they're waiting to get the ducts sorted out, as it may be if this proves too difficult there is a slightly different fall back location.

Ok learn something new everyday and thus the people at Openreach briefing on a limit of 50 to 100m in the past are clearly wrong.

Which cabinets have their fibre twin more than 200m away?
