Hi all!, Newbie with a question

Hi all,

With BT price rises and currently being ripped off for the service we get, we tried to get out of our contract. The issue we have is 2 different providers say they cannot offer us broadband due to the exchange.

Ive looked up the exchange "Pilling" and found it is a BT Wholesale only excange. Does this mean we can only get BT?

No, it means only ISPs using BT Wholesale services in the exchange. Which is over a hundred. The ones you can't get are Sky, TalkTalk and Vodafone. (Though you might occasionally find they can supply but the products they provide at exchanges where they do not have a presence, (see the LLU list in your link), are garbage.

What does this checker say for your phone number please? In particular does it have a VDSL range as below

or only ADSL Max? I assume it does not have WBC ADSL2+ available.

Only ADSL MAX

Fibre to the premises has recently arrived but its too expensive.

Basically its my parents house, they were with BT and needed the line moving, BT cut them off by mistake and then had to put down as a new contract which they did not give any discount (as original line was)

Their bills are £50 a month for unlimited broadband and evening and weekend calls. With BT putting their prices up we were told we could exit the contract without penalty, but tried twice and both ppl they have tried have come back saying they cannot change over "due to the exchange" so looking to help them out and tell them who can

Who is the FTTP provider that's available and what is their pricing?

What's their postcode?

Strange how there's no fttp or fttc showing as available, as cabs on that exhange have been upgraded. Unless they're too far from the cabinet.

FTTP is BT with cost £40.99 P/M inc line rental

My olds don't use internet much or indeed the phone, but need them both, so price is too much really
