AAISP - Potential ADSL Back Up Line Solution

Hi guys,

I contacted AAISP the other day, but still yet to here back from them. In the meantime, I am asking if/how it is possible to get a ADSL back up line solution whilst still being able to monitor it using a compatible modem.

Basically, I would like the same setup as I have now but I wouldn't be actively using the ADSL connection unless my VDSL2 line failed completely. Would I still have to pay for the line rental etc. and have a new master socket fitted?

Even though you wouldn't be using it of course you'd have to pay for it ? They won't supply a service for nothing.

Yes.

You cannot have two broadbands on a single line, even though they are different types.

Specifically, the filter on the line in the FTTC cabinet removes all ADSLx frequencies. Including the ones that would come down the copper from your exchange if you had ADSLx. The line has to go through the FTTC one to pick up the fibre connection and output VDSL2 to you with the phone frequencies.

4G router as backup?

Was thinking ADSL as I would like to monitor it but couldn't use it as a primary connection obviously.
