Upload noise margin dropped so has upload speed ?

this afternoon my router disconnected and reconnected 3 times in very quick time frame ( less than 5 mins)

these are my stats now
5. DSL uptime: 0 days, 01:26:42
6. Data rate: 15304 / 79903
7. Maximum data rate: 15461 / 96972
8. Noise margin: 7.5 / 10.7
9. Line attenuation: 3.6 / 4.4
10. Signal attenuation: 3.9 / 4.4

Before the drops my upload speed has always been 19999 and upload noise margin between 16 - 17 since i had fibre in September 2015 I am on a 80/20 product


As you can see the drops have not caused my download speed to change , what could cause a 10 drop in upload noise margin and why would that cause my upload sync to lower by about 4.6 meg?

Some noise present in a narrow frequency band that is only impacting the upload frequency band

Plugged in any thing new today? Or got a neighbour with an adjoining wall who may have done so?

Hi , No setup has been the same since sept 2015 , no neighbour with an adjoining wall .

would it be worth trying another router and filter? , i just have the one master socket with a BT MK4 faceplate

If the noise that is impacting the upload , went away ( could it just be a burst of noise at that time of the disconnects, and doing another re sync bring it back up?) on its own accord, would i likely get my 19999 sync back ?

No one can say for certain, but when noise does go away your modem will not automatically resync, you should see the SNR margin improve, hinting that things are better and a resync might be worthwhile at that time.

Best thing is to leave alone and see what happens to the upload SNR margin over the next 24 hours.
