Convention of the Openreach Vans

Just popped to the Cash Machine for my Gardeners money and there are about 10 Openreach vans surrounding my PCP and Fibre cabinet. Wonder what they are doing next stop roadworks.org.

It's festival season - the vans are having their own Glastonbury.

Were they tonners ? (Big square box on the back of a transit body)

Some were tonners, some ordinary transits with yellow flashing lights parked on the verge and a couple of transits parked down a side street. I would have stopped but gardener wanted his cash.

Told you it was festival season. Bet one of them had the stereo on as well

Ah, possibly resorted to prostitution to supplement their meagre wages then, the lights will be red by nightfall.

Getting rough round your neck of the woods innit.

There's enough of them with lights on.

A Talk Talk Service Update


Parts of the UK have experienced several lightning storms and torrential rain within the last 24 hours. This has caused damage to the Openreach network, with impact to both above and below ground connections, and an increase in faults being reported.



Openreach is therefore informing us that repair activities in the following areas will be delayed while they work through the requests.

Wearside
Northumberland
They are taking steps, including directing additional engineers into these areas, to bring the services back online as quickly as we possibly can. We'll continue to monitor the situation in these areas and update with progress from the Openreach team. Thank you for your patience.

Wearside is where I am so maybe the flock of vans around my cabinet was something to do with the above update. But my line has been fine all day including playing with a couple of modem/routers.

A friend in Canterbury reported a power outage in torrential rain earlier - all his UPSs were going mad.
