Confusing Green DSL light

Ordered FTTC a few weeks ago, Uno is stating I'm not getting it until the 18th of August, yet I found my Openreach modem in a box as I just moved to this place, so thought I'd plug it in. The DSL light lit up a solid green after a few seconds of flashing. Does that mean it is sync'd? Hopeful.. I then unpacked my router, punched in the updated login stuff from Uno. Nada. DSL checker shows the open order for the 18th. Is this normal?

No it won't work until the order completes on the 18th. BT engineer has to connect you through the FTTC cab. Modem is probably syncing on ADSL but you won't get a connection on normal locked modem because it is configured for PTM which is used on FTTC. (ADSL uses ATM)

On your BTw checker, you are better off with ADSL2+ 18Meg as FTTC on 22 to 30 Meg isn't worth the extra cost.

U could try that but I don't think it won't work in this way!

Depends on what the extras cost is. It may be worth it for the upload increase.

Don't know, its quite a large increase down in that region for speeds... anyway love to see ADSL provide 1.2-5mbps...

Chances are that the activate xDSL signal is an old connection which hasn't been closed yet.

When did you initiate your line activation with your ISP.

That is my reasoning for going with FTTC, potentially 400% faster upload.
