From 52mb to 512k. What's the chances of getting fibre?

I've posted a few times over the years on here about the struggles of getting a fibre connection. It involved getting my local MP involved etc but after 7 years it paid off and FTTH became available but even that was a disaster as openreach cocked up my address but we got there and I put my order in for 52mb infinity 1 and 3 days before it was due to be installed law of sod landlord decided to put the house up for sale and I had to cancel.

So here we are again back at square 1. Found a new property. Max speed 2mb, lowest guaranteed speed a massive 512k, we really like the house but broadband is the deciding factor, we've struggled long enough with [censored] speed, it's in a rural location, do rural locations ever get fibre?

Proportionally more likely to find find FTTP in rural locations 1 in 10 of Herefordshire and also Powys have it, so question is where are you looking

what is black and purple dot colour mean?

No great significance other than some providers are plotted in purple and others probably will move to that colour scheme to help improve clarity as layers are used on http://maps.thinkbroadband.com and http://labs.thinkbroadband.com/local/broadband-maps

Yes, rural places do get fibre but it is a toss of the coin game and I think an element of luck. If the original box location had been retained we'd still be bumping along even with fibre. Whereas, after a rethink on plans, a new fibre box appeared in the village (hamlet actually - no church!). We used to get 2mb max, now with fibre, around the 70mb mark and we are 5 miles from the nearest town.
