False broadband advertisements.

[link to this post]

Should broadband companies such as Talk Talk be allowed to put advertising literature into your letterbox for products that they can not supply to you and certainly near neighbours?

To quote an online application:
Sorry, our line check shows you aren't able to get any TalkTalk packages
We can't currently bring any broadband plans to your area but we're expanding our UK network all the time so please check back again soon.

If I've read this right - then yes, Royal Mail deliver a load of junk mail unless you opt out.

Royal Mail delivers much junk mail including TT unless you opt out. This stops it, but also stops genuine public service literature such as council announcements regarding such things as bin collection etc. Think TT, think recycling bin smile

I would say the company who is the worst is Virgin. closely followed by Sky who regularly offer me a service which would break the law!

Apparently it does help to keep the Royal Mail in business which is one reason for accepting it. But it annoys me that Talk Talk (and Sky) do it.

They also call it 'TalkTalk for Everyone' but when I applied they told me they could not supply it even though I had Infinity 1 at the time.
......so it's not for everyone then?

They aren't refusing you but your location - if you moved then I am sure they would be happy to supply to you. So, everyone just not everywhere...

This could simply be due to a full cabinet (i.e., one needing more line cards adding).

3 km line on THTG: 18/1.2 Mb/s with Sky
Previously: BT ISDN, Nildram, Plusnet, 186k, EFH, Be*, Plusnet (again), Pulse8

Yes I had heard that as well so I haven't opted out. But you are making the mistake of *reading* the junk mail wink
