Why are my speeds so low?

I know nothing about this guys so hopefully someone can help. I recently signed up to BT Infinity 1, a max 52mb. For the first 2 weeks I was getting a consistent 50mb, after the training period though its halved.

BT Speedtest is always over-generous, it says.
1. Best Effort Test:

Download Speed : 33.52 Mbps

2. Upstream Test:

Upload Speed : 8.84 Mbps

The stats look OK, except the uptime looks short. Have you rebooted recently ?

The sync speeds are the maximum for the 55/10 product, so the snr figures are high as would be expected. So nothing wrong with the connection speed. Question for the OP - are your speed tests using a wired Ethernet connection?

Look at the difference in training period and now

Speed tests really ought to be carried out over a wired connection to rule out wifi issues.

A wired Speedtest should show your problem is with Wi-Fi and your connection is fine.
