Getting less than half the advertised speed?

I was with BT for 2 months and left due a bit of a fall out, but with BT on Infinity 1 I got a constant 50mb day or night on Wifi

Today went to Talk Talk, I went for there superfast option, 76mb, My line can handle over 80mb.

I have talked to Talk Talk who are even more clueless than BT which I didn't think was possible,

I really can't be bothered with any more fighting, I just want a service that works, any ideas or can I leave at this stage?

Not all Wi-Fi routers are created equal. First step check if device using 5GHz or 2.4GHz bands

Do you get the speeds you expect over Ethernet?

just buy a proper router which has good reviews

I set up hotspots for both, On BT 5GHZ really made a difference of at least 10mb, On Talk Talk no difference at all, in fact I'd say 5ghz is worse. Over ethernet nowhere near 76mb, 30-40mb.

And as the evening goes on its getting even slower.

So their router is not good for wi-fi, your choice to buy an access point to give better wireless or not
