We have a couple of Lenovo computers despite the spy/adware scandal of a few years back. My wife was recording from radio on her Ideacentre/W10 when we noticed the level indicator on the Audacity software was indicating when we spoke and our speech was audible on the radio recording together with extraneous noise from the room.
We disabled the computer's built-in microphone and camera using Device Manager, or so we thought. Then we found the mic was still working as shown by the level indicator. We gave up and recorded using my trusty old HP with W7 instead. Has anyone else encountered this live mic issue? Should we don our tinfoil helmets?
