I have found all service providers less than straight forward they tell you what they may be able to provide

This might be true where the end user chooses to ignore what is written on the ISP's web site when placing an order otherwise I am fairly sure that you will virtually all of the information that you might require together with the terms and conditions on the supplier's web site. The big problem being that much of it is boring so the more important information can easily be missed as ones eyes glaze over.

If happy with 2 Mbps then any ADSL provider will suffice since it looks like estimates for NR65EB are in the 2.5 to 6.5 Mbps region.

If you go for the FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) and then VDSL2 over the copper estimates look to be in the 18 to 40 Mbps, and prices start at £22.50/m including line rental for those services, ADSL services can be had for a couple of pounds cheaper if happy with the slower speeds

As for terms and conditions most providers do have a copy on their sites if you feel the need to read them in detail ahead of signing a contract.

To add to that, for the OP in case they have trouble finding them, often the Terms & Conditions are labelled �Legal� or similar at the bottom of web pages.
