Easily domain registrar catastrophic failure

[link to this post]

Easily has moved their operations to Canada, and have made a total shambles of the transfer of domains and hosting in the process.

Domains vanishing for days, email forwarding failing, email addresses showing as no user.
One of my customers has been out of action for over a week.

The "improved" portal doesn't work, support is non-existent. Emails to support are not answered, and telephone to support sits on hold for upwards of 20 minutes, and then the response if you get through is "we know that there are problems with transfers but we are going ahead anyway".

Looking at the review sites shows that lots of people have been hit with this, with no way of transferring oyt their domains.

Avoid!!!

We have used a few in the past some good and some very bad, but we have now moved all our domains over to GANDI which seems to be cheapish and good so far ,so it might be worth a look.

That would be fine if you could transfer out, but that needs Easily to make a change to the tag first. As they are unable to do that, there is a problem!

Tag changes can be done directly via Nominet's Online Service - might be worth a try?

That sucks.

Is it a co.uk domain etc, you could try and contact Nominet about the issues and they might contact them.

That's what I thought, I know my younger brother managed to transfer all my domains etc over to Gandi without even contacting the existing registrar who were rubbish and kept failing to do renewals.

I just hope the OP domains are linked to his login, assuming its a domain that Nominet handles.

That was very amusing indeed smile

I think they should make it harder to register a domain by requiring more information as proof.
The amount of domains that are created to stop other people from using them are becoming rather silly LOL.
