Implication of costs when switching

My daughter and her fianc� have moved in the last three months to a new rented address within Bristol, at the new address at the moment can only have DSL their ISP is BT same as at the old rented address.
According to BT Checker and Openreach Checker FTTC is now available. As they have only had internet with BT first at the old address for one year and now at the new address for three months are they liable to extra costs if they switch;
1. From DSL to FTTC with same ISP (BT)?
2. If the switch from DSL (BT) to FTTC (BT)?

If they stay with BT then any remaining part of their ADSL contract will be waived when they move to FTTC/VDSL and agree a new contract. In the past moving from BT Residential/Consumer ADSL to BT Business VDSL was also without penalty.

If they were to move to a cheaper ISP, according to Openreach Checker https://www.homeandbusiness.openreach.co.uk/fibre-br... they have 26 to choose from.
As to save them money in the long run I wonder if the cancellation fee from BT would be less than the saving if they go with Vodafone or PlusNet?
Vodafone 76Mbps quotes a saving of £400/annual over BT 76Mbps.

I doubt te £400 savings.

BT will come in at around £46/month including line rental with a £125 cash back card, that equates to £427 for the first year. No way can VF provide full 76Mbps service including line rental for £2/month.

Would they get the cash back card with a within-term upgrade?

maybe, maybe not and even without I cannot see VF being £12/month including line rental.

Superfast 2 £28/month after 19 month

compared to

Infinity 2 £48.32/month

. In any case I phoned Vodafone and they cannot supply my daughter's address as they do not have the whatever it is in the cabinet 43 in Easton Bristol as it has just come live in the past week. So it looks as though she will have to stay with BT.

Whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about.

No ISP has anything in any FTTC cabinet. Only Openreach does. Then hand over at the FTTC headend exchange, which may not be the same exchange as their ADSL2+.

Vodafone were the ones who said they cannot supply BS5 8AW although looking at SamKnows exchange checker Easton Bristol they are enabled for LLU so I don't know why they cannot supply FTTC to cabinet 43.

There was an implied "at Vodafone" in what I said, seeing as you said you had phoned them and that was what they said. Or did you add the bit about them not having whatever in the cabinet?
