Slow broadband today, all of a sudden?

Double check your DNS responses.

1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 have been on the blink today. Seems to be sporadic.

Why use them?

Cos until today they worked, and they respond better than many others. Use the fastest DNS servers you can.

That sounds very similar to the fate that befalls the most beautiful unspoilt places to visit on this planet.

Can't say I've seen any problems with them. They seem as fast as always (using DNS over https)

It could have been associated with this, perhaps.
Later on Monday web company Cloudflare was hit by a second MainOne Cable mistake that also saw much of its traffic re-routed.
Though the article says Monday. It could be Cloudflare were making preliminary or similar (successful) changes on Sunday.

I just shifted to Plusnet's default for a few days. Seems fine.
