Pavement markings ...

[link to this post]

Noticed there are white spray painted markings on the pavement outside my house, they seem to be the length of the street and also highlight BT chambers adjacent to telephone poles. We have FTTC in this area, does this sound like FTTP? Roadworks.org doesn't show any BT work over the next 12 months.

It sounds like someone is about to do work on something.

BT usually mark up in grey paint.

Are there any words numbers or letters showing ?

Possibly Virgin Media - that is what our white markings turned out to be.

Line One:- Zen Fibre 1 - DrayTek Vigor 2860ac
Line Two:- Andrews and Arnold - DrayTek Vigor 130 Modem
Mobile:- EE PAYG - TP-Link Archer MR200

They wouldn't mark around BT's Chambers.

But until we see an image of the markings its hard to tell.

we are having some roadworks.
the works are for water, but they mapped other utilities and marked
white bt
green virgin fibre
red electric
yellow gas
blue water

so it could be any roadworks, not specifically bt.

They would if they plan to excavate near them. The markings are there to inform what is currently underground.
They don't give a clue as to what is planned.

Any markings going to individual property boundaries would suggest FTTP from an alternative network.

Full length of road and there being poles present makes BT extremely unlikely.

roadworks.org, accessed via your local council site, may reveal what is going to happen. Make sure you select a date to cover the next couple of months or so.

OK, they are just someone having the existing Openreach line plant marked out so as not to horse through them when they are digging up the pavement for some other reason.
