Quality of MK4 master socket filter vs plug-in filter?

[link to this post]

My mum's just got her new router delivered from Zen, and it comes with a plug-in filter. At my house I'm using a MK4 master socket, which has the filter built-in.

My question is, is the built-in filter better quality than the plug-in one? I have a feeling it is. Would it substantially increase broadband quality?

And if it is better quality: is it legal for me to replace my mum's old master with a MK4, and where can I buy them?

Yes, itís better quality. Itís got an RF filter built in too.

Will it make a huge difference ? Unlikely.

Is it legal ... what master socket does your Mumís line have already ?

Fitting an SSFP is legal ... tinkering with the wiring feeding to and the NTE is whatís frowned upon.

Yeah it is frowned upon and I'd certainly never do it, but if someone were to want to fit a MK4 faceplate with VDSL filter to the master socket, how would they go about getting it?

Ah that looks decent. Would it come with a couple of the right screws?

The Amazon one (1st one) is a copy so it might work fine, or it might be rubbish - risky.

I am unsure if the screws come with it, but they are just standard M3.5 screws you would use for an electrical socket. Pick these up from any DIY shop, Screwfix, eBay etc.

Well every 5 years I use to always re-wire back to the BT80 box (BT have been aware of this), sure BT don't like you doing this and if you cause issues by doing so you WILL get charged for them fixing any damages you may of cause.

As for acquiring the NTE5C Master Socket and MK4 xDSL Filter Faceplate, when ever I have needed one I have always got them from the engineers when I have seen them.
At one time I was offered a Huawei VDSL Modem, but I said no due to its no good for me.

What makes you think its a copy?
If its due to the missing images at the bottom (data, phone) then if you look at the image on amazon you can see its scraped off.

But going by the photos it does look iffy though.

Like I have already said, I have never brought BT Master Sockets, I have always got them from the engineers.
