I moved house last month and had BT FTTC installed. The line has never reached the minimum guaranteed even when plugged in to the test socket with nothing else connected. The speeds it is running are about half what the BT Wholesale checker reckons could be possible for the line. I have left it a while to avoid any "wait 10 days" etc and because the current connection of 30Mb is not a disaster for me at the moment. It was connecting at 28/9 but DLM has now got it at 30/2 - with minimum guaranteed speed being 32. The speedtester through the hub reckons there are no faults on the line.
So, the question. I think the best route is a boost engineer to come and do some decent checks on the line. Can I just request a boost engineer? Do they charge?
