broken checkers or isps making it hard to migrate from sky?

[link to this post]

On all of the following isps when I enter my number on the checker I either get an error or a no service available result (even for adsl).

AAISP
UNO - these state honestly they dont accept sky customers for migration which is interesting
Pulse8

I have contacted both aaisp and pulse8 to see what they say. Interested in thoughts on this tho.

Also is there a list of isps known that utilise TTB backhaul? The only one I know off for sure is AAISP, I am trying to avoid BTw as I had congestion issues when on plusnet.

I have been with Pulse8 80/20 FTTC with TTB backhaul since last December on a Market A exchange with no problems. The fibre obviously goes to the head end exchange as there is no LLU presence at the local PSTN exchange.

Not sure why their checker doesn't work for you, I don't think being with sky should be a reason for it failing.

LLU numbers - providers using BT Wholesale checker source have no visibility of the number.

So order based on the full address and then be sure to say you want to move the phone number

AAISP have already confirmed their issue is with it been LLU.

Their websites seem flawed that they wont let you check on address instead of phone number to work around LLU issues. So I guess I will need to order over phone if I decide to order.

Just to clarify things for the forum.

The aaisp website does allow you to start with a post code and that does get round the phone number problem so my mistake for not noticing that, I cleared questions I had with them on the phone and decided to go that route.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've just moved from Sky-based NowTV to Talktalk-based Shell Energy. In the past I have moved from Virgin Media after porting my phone number first, to Plusnet. From Plusnet to Sky and from Sky to Plusnet.

It's only in this last move I have lost my phone number, but as I don't use my landline any more this doesn't worry me.

Maybe I've just been lucky?
