fast connection but rubbish/failing downloads SKY

[link to this post]

hi folks
you may be able to get my thickhead around this issue

Sky package allegedly the fastest available from sky here in sk8 after upgrade to latest modem system is falling apart.

50+gbs connection but pages wont load wifi fails and the dammed thing even disturbs the home network as it is rewriting the addresses every 30s or 5 mins randomly

Sky have put open reach on the job, 4 engineers over 2 weeks still no better no prognosis or viable solution suggested.

had been fine for 2 years before the new modem (so kid can play games better)
[censored] is going on....

Seems simple if all was well before new modem and that was all that changed then that may be cause.

Rewriting local LAN IP addresses is nothing to do with the connection but the router.

If you have a device connected using Ethernet is that usually stable compared to the wireless devices?

Hi Paul

Is there any way you could go back to the older type of modem, even if its just a way to eliminate/identify the issue with the latest modem

Could you perhaps give us some actual data/ Speeds test, ping results...
Ideally measured from a Ethernet device directly connected to the modem.
