Lower Single Thread speed on TBB Speed Test

I have Virgin Media M200 broadband and this is what I get on the TBB SpeedTest:-

My Broadband Speed Test

However, if I go to Speedtest Net and do Single Thread test I get 215 mbps:-

Why is this?

Common issue with Virgin Media and believed to be done to part of the Virgin Media core network and the multiple paths through that network to the outside world.

I had not noticed this before as like you say I also get full speed on Speedtest.net single thread so I thought I�d have a look, and yep same thing for me.

Gave it another go, and still shows lower on single thread. This is in sunny Doncaster via Bradford core.

The tests seem fine for me on BT, I know I am not on VM, sadly VM will not install in my area, also I am located in London hence my BQM having a very low latency floor.

But the single threaded TBB Speedtest gives the same results as with Speedtest.net also there is not really any difference between the Single and Multi Threaded tests for me.

I thought I would try the speedtest on the same machine on the same setup through the same VM M200 connection via a VPN and got this:
