Virgin Hub 3 Port fowarding

In port forwarding my camera is connected showing

192.168.1.24 1554 60565 TCP Automatically added by UPnP

But I'm having some problems with the camera and the supplier recomends disabling the firewall but I'm worried about that.

If try to add a device it only alloiws 192.168.0....not 192.168.1.....

If I check the port is open on 1554 a checking website says it is closed

It sounds like the router is poorly designed if it only allows 192.168.0.x when the router gateway is in 192.168.1.x. However, one option could be to change the router IP to the 192.168.0 range and change the DHCP scope to the same range. This depends on how comfortable you are with configuring network settings.

Hi,

Can you go into the camera & statically assign an IP address? You should check what IP the camera has been assigned. You could then manually assign the port on the router.

What a bunch of cowboys telling you to disable your firewall!.... Yee-Haw!!!!!!! Have they Ever worked in the industry? Maybe they were Machine Machine Mechanics in the their previous jobs!!!

Get the supplier or manufacturer to tell you how to do this with no UPnP or send it back for a refund!!!

Otherwise YOUR Security will be compromised..

The problem is that the Virgin Hub 3 is a bit rubbish and only supports LAN addresses in the 192.168.0.x range.
You'll need to get your camera running on an address in this range (either static or via DHCP) before you can do anything with it.
I was really appalled when virgin "upgraded" me to the Hub 3 a couple of years ago. Very little user control over anything. I'm now with A&A.

You aren't responding to the OP but the post of mine you did respond to was advising how to get it in the 192.168.0 range - just changing the camera will make it inaccessible if the router and DHCP range aren't reconfigured first.

Thanks to all for the advice, it seems I cannot change the ip address of the camera, there are no options, this probably explains why a previous camera stopped working when I got the new hub.

Just stick the Hub 3 in Modem mode and get a good router. It will save you so much grief in the long run...
