Want to change fibre provider but openreach says no!?

[link to this post]

Im a bit confused....

Ive had Sky Fibre Max for 3 years and want to change providers. After using various different providers checkers, Im only offered adsl packages.

I visited the Openreach website to check for availability and was greeted with the message below??

Good news well be upgrading your area to Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) soon.

Im guessing this is the reason I cant change providers but why has the Openreach checker changed its mind about FTTC availability when I clearly have it?

Do you mean this one? All BT Wholesale based providers seem to just put their own skin on that too. It is in fact a BT Wholesale service, which does not recognise Sky or TalkTalk phone numbers.

If so, did you use the postcode option? Which says:-
Postcode only checks will not return any result for Fibre services (FTTP, FTTC:VDSL and G.fast).

Please use the address or telephone number checker.
The Address option will work for you smile. Counter-intuitively, entering just the postcode in that will give you a drop-down list of all addresses on that postcode, which is an easier way to get to yours. Also sometimes useful for easily comparing it with others near you.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Hi RobertoS,

Thanks for the response.

My phone number has never worked with checking sites, it always say that it's unrecognised but the address search on dslchecker.bt.com is showing...

"This PCP has a waiters list for FTTC VDSL and SOGEA VDSL services. You may place an order which will be dealt with in turn."

I take it this is the reason I can't place an order.

Unfortunately, as Zarjaz says.

Not many ISPs use the Waiting List facility frown.
